How to Edit the Organization Tree

The system lets you customize organization-level names in the Edit Organization Tree section. Your implementation team usually sets these names during setup, but higher-level users can change them as needed.

These labels appear in the Organizations section, showing groupings and organization types. Editable labels in the Organization Tree are shown in grey.

To review and edit these labels, start by clicking Organizations in the left-hand menu

At the upper right, select the Edit Organization Tree button.

A screen similar to the following will appear.

There are two main branches of the tree:

  1. On the left, organizations that collect data and/or are associated with individual participants or activities/services offered are displayed. 
  2. On the right, school districts and schools are displayed. This branch is only relevant if your program has student data from a student information system being imported into the system or if you want to connect program sites with actual school names.

Starting at the top of the Organization Tree, the "System Level " label can be edited by clicking on the pencil icon.

Change the name as desired. Click Change name when done.

Typically, this System Level label is not changed.

Continue editing label names down the tree as desired with the pencil icon. 

Common changes include Institution Level (often renamed to grantee list, grantee level, or district level) and Institution (often renamed to grantee or district).

For the Funder and Partner sections, you can rename labels and toggle their availability. When the slider is green, the organization type is enabled; when grey, it’s disabled, preventing partners or funders from being added.

After making any changes to labels or toggles, be sure to click the Save Organization tree button at the upper right of the screen.
